GarrLab e primi risultati: url-shortener e wazuh

Mi laureo in Scienze dell'Informazione nel 1999 ed inizio a lavorare presso l'Università di Bologna come Network Administrator. Qualche anno più tardi mi viene affidato l’incarico di responsabile ICT di un Dipartimento in Università.La passione e la curiosità per questa materia mi spingono ad approfondire le mie conoscenze, così, successivamente, conseguo un Master in "Sicurezza dell'Informazione" ed uno in "Tecnlogia FLOSS". Nel 2005 vengo trasferito al CeSIA e inizio a lavorare a CERT-UniBo in qualità di Network Analyst. Negli ultimi anni mi sono occupato anche della progettazione e sviluppo della rete di analisi del CERT

I graduated in Computer Science in 1999 and started working as a Network Administrator at the University of Bologna. A few years later I became the ICT manager of a University Department. Following my interest and inclination for this area I kept on studying and got two Masters in "Information Security" and in "FLOSS Technology". In 2005 I was transferred to CeSIA and I started to work at CERT-UniBo (University of Bologna's Computer Emergency Response Team) as a Network Analyst. Recently I have been working on the design and development of the CERT analysis network.

GarrLab e primi risultati: url-shortener e Wazuh

Due esperienze compiute internamente alla comunità GarrLab, la prima riguarda il famoso SIEM FLOSS Wazuh, un rapido riassunto delle sue caratteristiche peculiari, le scelte, la configurazione e alcuni warnings relativi al pilota realizzato all'interno del gruppo SIEM di GarrLab. url-shortener è un progetto OpenSource (Apache 2) creato from scratch sotto forma di servizio web per offrire una utilità di riduzione degli URL. Una rapida narrazione dello stack utilizzato per la realizzazione, le scelte di design condotte da parte della comunità GarrLab, tempi e modalità di sviluppo.

GarrLab first results: url-shortener and Wazuh

Two experiences carried out within the GarrLab community, the first concerns the famous SIEM FLOSS Wazuh, a quick summary of its peculiar characteristics, the choices, the configuration and some warnings related to the pilot built within the SIEM group of GarrLab. url-shortener is an OpenSource (Apache 2) project created from scratch as a web service to offer a URL shortening utility. A quick narration of the stack used for the realization, the design choices made by the GarrLab community, times and methods of development.
