ABSTRACT
Oggi il numero di applicativi scientifici in grado di sfruttare le GPU è in continua crescita, per rispondere alla crescente domanda abbiamo configurato il Cloud GARR in modo da sfruttare la virtualizzazione delle GPU. La virtualizzazione della GPU consente a più macchine virtuali di usare contemporaneamente la stessa GPU fisica e permette l'allocazione dinamica delle risorse anche su cluster Kubernetes costruito su OpenStack.
Nowadays, the number of scientific applications which require the use of GPUs is on the rise, so we configured the GARR Cloud using the GPU virtualization, which allows multiple virtual machines to use the same physical GPU at the same time and allows allocating almost transparently the resources as needed in the Kubernetes clusters deployed on top of Openstack.
