GARR Conference is the annual meeting of users, operators and managers of the Italian national education and research network aimed at sharing experiences and comments on the use of the network as a tool for research, training and culture, in different contexts and disciplines.

At the hearth of this years’ conferenceare the new IT challenges in multidisciplinary research: from cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, from data preservation to their reuse, from education to open science.

These are topics of interest for the many communities that are part of the GARR network and are becoming more and more interlinked and multidisciplinary. The conference will be an opportunity to present success stories of innovation and topics for discussion for the world of academia, research, education, health and humanities.

Paolo Budroni è dal 1991 a capo dell’E-Infrastructures Liaison Office dell'ufficio presso la Vienna University Library and Archive Services dell’Università di Vienna. È anche il delegato nazionale austriaco nell'E-Infrastructure Reflection Group. Paolo Budroni ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in Filosofia, Storia dell'arte e Filologia romanza, una laurea in Foreign Trade, una laurea specialistica in European Integration for Public Administration e ha lavorato nel campo della gestione della conoscenza e dei sistemi informativi di ricerca negli ultimi 26 anni. Attività nel 2018: per conto della Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in collaborazione con l'Università di Catania, Paolo Budroni ha partecipato a febbraio 2018 al lancio del Centro dati nazionale etiopico (NADRE) e ha organizzato e condotto nell'agosto 2018 il Seminario di formazione per la gestione dei dati di ricerca e delle e-infrastructures per gli Stakeholder etiopi presso l'Università di Gondar. È stato coinvolto per:

  • l'organizzazione dell'ICRI 2018 a Vienna (settembre 2018)
  • il coordinamento e la co-organizzazione con la Commissione europea e la Presidenza austriaca del Council of events come il Lancio ufficiale di EOSC (23 novembre) https://eosc-launch.eu/home
  • l'evento della Presidenza EOSC – Austria takes initiative (30 ottobre) https://eosc18-ati.univie.ac.at.

È membro di EOSC Secretariat e coautore della Dichiarazione di Vienna su EOSC https://eosc-launch.eu/declaration/.

Paolo Budroni is the Head of the E-Infrastructures Liaison Office at Vienna University Library and Archive Services, University of Vienna since 1991. He is also Austrian National Delegate in the E-Infrastructure Reflection Group. Paolo Budroni holds a PhD in Philosophy, Art History, and Romance Philology, an academic Foreign Trade degree, postgraduate degree in European Integration for Public Administration and has worked in the field of knowledge management and research information systems for the last 26 years. Activities in 2018: On behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and in cooperation with the Università di Catania, Paolo Budroni has participated in February 2018 to the Launch of the Ethiopian National data Centre (NADRE) and has further organized and led the “Training seminar for research data stewardship and e-infrastructures for Ethiopian Stakeholders at Gondar University” in August 2018. He was involved in:

  • the organization of ICRI 2018, Vienna, September 2018
  • the coordination and co-organisation with the European Commission and the Austrian Presidency of the Council of events like the officlal “Launch of the EOSC” (November 23rd) - https://eosc-launch.eu/home
  • the Presidency event “EOSC – Austria takes initiative” (October 30th) https://eosc18-ati.univie.ac.at
